Buy Bundles Even With Okoa Jahazi, Kopa Credo or Pewa Outstanding
Have Okoa Jahazi? You are not alone. Most Shopika bundle customers have an outstanding loan when they buy. The good news is Shopika lets you buy data, minutes and SMS even when your loan is unpaid.
Safaricom
Okoa Jahazi
Borrow airtime or bundles on credit. Safaricom blocks further purchases until you repay.
Airtel Kenya
Kopa Credo / Kopa Data
Kopa Credo for airtime. Kopa Data for bundles. Both block purchases until repaid.
Telkom Kenya
Pewa
Borrow airtime or data on Telkom. Pewa blocks further purchases until repaid.
Why Shopika Works Even With an Outstanding Loan
When you buy directly from Safaricom, Airtel or Telkom using M-Pesa, the network checks your loan balance first. If you have Okoa, Kopa Credo or Pewa, they block the transaction.
Shopika works differently. You deposit money into your Shopika Wallet via M-Pesa Paybill. Then you buy bundles through Shopika. The network never gets a chance to check your loan balance because the purchase does not come directly from M-Pesa.
Simple version
Okoa Jahazi watches your M-Pesa. Shopika Wallet is separate from your M-Pesa. So Okoa cannot see what Shopika is doing.

What Bundles Can You Buy?
All of these work even with an outstanding loan:
Safaricom
Data, calling minutes, SMS, Easy Talk, combo, no-expiry
Airtel
Data, minutes, SMS, combo, night bundles, social
Telkom
Data, minutes, SMS, combo bundles
Faiba
Data bundles — all plans
Note about regular airtime
Okoa Jahazi is an airtime loan. When airtime lands on your line, Safaricom automatically takes it to repay Okoa. This applies even to airtime bought through Shopika. If you want to make calls without Okoa deducting, buy calling minutes bundles or No Expiry Airtime instead.
Buying for Someone Else
You can buy bundles for any number in Kenya. If your friend or family member has Okoa Jahazi, it does not matter. Their loan balance has nothing to do with your Shopika Wallet. Just enter their number and buy.
What About Airtel Kopa Credo?
Same thing. Kopa Credo and Kopa Data block direct Airtel purchases. Shopika bypasses both. Buy any Airtel data, minutes or SMS bundle from your Shopika Wallet and Kopa will not interfere.

Pewa works the same way. Shopika Wallet is not connected to Telkom's loan system. You can buy Telkom bundles even with Pewa outstanding.

Dial *384*4444# from a Safaricom or Telkom phone. Once inside, you can buy bundles for any network — Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom or Faiba. The restriction is only on which line dials the code. Airtel users without a Safaricom or Telkom phone can use the website instead.
