Does Shopika work even with Okoa Jahazi?

Yes. Shopika Wallet is completely separate from Safaricom. When you buy through Shopika, the payment comes from your wallet, not M-Pesa airtime. Okoa Jahazi never sees the transaction.

Does it work with Kopa Credo and Kopa Data on Airtel?

Yes. Same thing. Kopa Credo and Kopa Data block direct Airtel purchases. But Shopika Wallet is not a direct Airtel purchase, so it bypasses the block completely.

Does it work with Pewa on Telkom?

Yes. Pewa cannot block a Shopika Wallet transaction. Buy any Telkom bundle even with Pewa outstanding.

Will Okoa Jahazi deduct when I deposit to Shopika Wallet?

No. Depositing to Shopika is done via M-Pesa Paybill (4041145). Okoa Jahazi only deducts from airtime received on your line, not from Paybill payments.

What is the minimum I need to deposit?

KES 10. That is enough to buy a bundle straight away.

Can I buy bundles for someone else even if they have Okoa?

Yes. Enter their phone number when buying. Their Okoa Jahazi balance does not affect your Shopika Wallet purchase.

Does this work for regular airtime?

No. Regular airtime will still trigger Okoa repayment because Okoa is an airtime loan. For calls, buy calling minutes bundles or No Expiry Airtime instead.

Why Shopika Works Even With an Outstanding Loan

When you buy directly from Safaricom, Airtel or Telkom using M-Pesa, the network checks your loan balance first. If you have Okoa, Kopa Credo or Pewa, they block the transaction.

Shopika works differently. You deposit money into your Shopika Wallet via M-Pesa Paybill. Then you buy bundles through Shopika. The network never gets a chance to check your loan balance because the purchase does not come directly from M-Pesa.

Simple version

Okoa Jahazi watches your M-Pesa. Shopika Wallet is separate from your M-Pesa. So Okoa cannot see what Shopika is doing.

Buying for Someone Else

You can buy bundles for any number in Kenya. If your friend or family member has Okoa Jahazi, it does not matter. Their loan balance has nothing to do with your Shopika Wallet. Just enter their number and buy.

What About Airtel Kopa Credo?
