Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your Shopika account and associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to do it and what to expect.
Option 1: Delete in the app
- Log in to your Shopika account.
- Go to Account → Profile & Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Option 2: Request via support
If you can't log in, send an account deletion request from the phone number or email registered on your account:

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request.
What gets deleted
- Your profile information (name, email, phone number, saved addresses)
- Your login credentials and saved preferences
- Your stores, products and orders if you are a merchant (or these are anonymized/transferred per applicable agreements)
What we retain, and why
Some information cannot be deleted immediately due to legal and regulatory requirements:
- Transaction records (airtime, bundles, payments, orders) are retained for up to 7 years for tax, accounting and fraud-prevention obligations under Kenyan law.
- Records required to resolve open disputes, refunds, or investigations are retained until resolved.
This retained data is kept securely and is not used for marketing once your account is deleted. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
Processing time
Account deletion requests are processed within 7 days. Wallet balances must be withdrawn or will be forfeited as described in our Terms of Service before deletion is completed.
