Steps to Become a Shopika Merchant
Sign up
Four things: the shop name, the owner’s M-Pesa number, where it is, and what it sells.
Add Your Store
Fill in your store name, category, location, operating hours, and delivery settings.
Upload Products
Add your products with photos, prices, and stock quantities.
Get Approved
We check the shop is real, usually within 1-3 business days. You can add products while you wait.
Start Selling
Your store goes live on Shopika. Customers can find and order from you immediately.
Get Paid
Either the customer pays your own Pochi or Till directly, or the money comes through your Shopika wallet and you withdraw it to M-Pesa.

Who can become a Shopika merchant?
Any legitimate business owner in Kenya can apply — water suppliers, gas dealers, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and more.
What does it cost me?
Nothing. Nothing to join, nothing every month, no subscription, and no commission on what you sell. If a customer orders a thousand shillings from your shop, you keep a thousand shillings.
Does Shopika hold my money?
Only if you want it to. You can take payment straight to your own M-Pesa Pochi or Till, in which case the customer pays you and Shopika never touches the money. Or you can be paid through Shopika, where the full amount lands in your Shopika wallet and you withdraw it to M-Pesa whenever you like.
What are you gaining from this?
We make our money on airtime, bundles and SMS — the things a shop buys from us anyway — and on supplying stock. Your sales are not where we earn, which is why we can leave them alone. A shop that sells more buys more from us, and that is enough.
How long does merchant approval take?
After submitting your application and verification documents, approval typically takes 1-3 business days.
